Toffee Apple Dip
In this easy toffee apple dip, cream cheese and brown sugar dotted with nutty toffee bits morph into a creamy, yet caramelly mixture.
This sweet, simple dip is always a welcome hit whenever it is served. It couldn’t be easier – I mean, seriously, three ingredients. Who doesn’t love that?
Here’s the magic: somehow cream cheese and brown sugar dotted with nutty toffee bits morphs into a creamy yet caramelly mixture.
It’s amazing. And addicting.
I’m making a batch of this today, actually. And I plan to hide in my pantry and eat the whole thing. With or without apples.
Happy New Year to me!

I’ve made this dip a handful of times since it was posted (I can’t believe that was 11 years ago!), and it’s always a hit! I love it, but find it can be hard to scoop onto apples. Tonight, we have a party with lots of kids included in the mix and I wanted it to be lighter/easier for them to eat. So I mixed in some cool whip at the end. It worked perfectly! It’s not quite as rich, and is creamier and fluffier. I don’t usually use a lot of cool whip, but sometimes it just works 🙂
I call it Crack dip because it is so good you dint want to stop eating it.
8 Oz or 4oz of cream cheese? Can I use a mixer?
8 ounces cream cheese and yes, you could use a mixer.
Yet another fantastic recipe! I used chocolate covered toffee bits, fat free cream cheese and about half the sugar called for. Delicious!! I’m excited about all the variations I’m dreaming up.
I didn’t realize you have this recipe on your site! I LOVE THIS! It is so yummy! Super bowl is usually when this makes it on our table!
Hi Mel!
Just made this dip, but I threw in butterscotch chips winces I had them on hand. So yummy, the kids are eating it all up. Thank you for another great recipe.
I just made this for a bible study brunch. I am so excited to take it to my pals. So yummy- I licked the spoon clean.
LOVE this one – been making it for years with several variations. We call it Caramel Apple Dip. The first recipe I had for it used both brown and white sugar and vanilla, but no toffee bits. I usually added the bits or would break up a Heath bar and add that. You can also add nuts, or even peanut butter (smooth or chunky…). The possibilities go on! Love your variation!
Holy begonias! This was great! I made this for the Super Bowl get together at my house and everyone was blown away at home good this was. Thank you for making me the MVP(well, the cooking MVP – I would have loved the fancy new corvette….a girl can dream) of the evening =)
Yum. I have always been a big fan of the cream cheese/marshmallow cream fruit dip. But I like this dip just as much. I love the crunch and flavor of the toffee bits. (I did decrease the sugar by half and I thought it was still sweet enough.)
I love this dip! I took it to a church activity last night and the girls were literally licking the plate I brought it on. I have never had so many requests for a recipe before, it was almost embarrassing to admit it was so easy. Thanks!
I made this when some friends came over the other night and we all loved it! I was skeptical at first, but it really does turn into caramely goodness! I only used 3/4 c. brown sugar, and since I couldn’t find toffee bits in the store I made my own toffee and chopped it up. This is a keeper.
Vicky – glad you loved this one. I’m super impressed you made your own toffee…now that’s going the extra mile!
I made the Toffee Apple Dip for New Year’s Eve, and it was a big hit! Will definitely be making this again.
Thanks, Jean!
Great idea!
Happy New Years!!
My mother-in-law gave me a similar recipe that is DIVINE. You might want to try this variation sometime. Decrease the brown sugar to 3/4 cup, add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar and 2 tbsp vanilla. Mmmm.
Ohhh yummy. Toffee is on my tops list.
fantastic! i won’t lie–i fall into the camp of folks who need no apples (or other such dippers) to enjoy such a creation. 🙂
Love the new look, and am excited to make this. Would be perfect for our finger food meal New Year’s Eve! Happy Holidays!
My sister-in-law made this for a family get together and called it toffee dip except she didn’t actually put the toffee in there! just the cream cheese and brown sugar. I totally planned to make it myself and add it. Great minds think alike!
This dip is YUMMY. I made it up tonight and served it with apples for dessert after a casual dinner. We all loved it. So easy too! This one is a keeper. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
This dip looks totally delicious and so easy! My kind of recipe! 🙂
I love your blog and all your recipes. I like the new look it is very cheery, I’m a graphic design student and would to help you design a logo/header to match your new style. Email me if you are interested.
I’ve made this with sour cream and brown sugar which is equally as yummy, and since sour cream is already so creamy, it just requires a quick stir to prepare. LOVE your recipes …. and your new look 🙂
I love this dip! It’s even better when you can find the skor toffee bits (covered in chocolate). Trust me! 😉
Love the new look 🙂 This recipe makes me wish I had a pantry to hide in!
I made this for a Christmas party a few weeks ago and it was a huge hit! I’m actually surprised I had a delicious and highly requested recipe that wasn’t from your site…. but it is now!
Sometimes we just need a change – huh? I’m glad you are back to Mel’s Kitchen Cafe. That CSS stuff confuses me big time. I just cross my fingers and hope nothing every goes wrong, because I would be in trouble. I guess I could just come to you with all my questions – LOL!
Thank you! I am not much of a photographer and was curious what makes your hard work look so beautiful and clear.
I’m glad I came back to see if you replied–you have since added another layer of color! I like the orange splash of print on each side of your wonderful site. I would have seen it since I visit your site several times a week just to ooh and aah, plus when I want to actually get cooking.
Jenn – ack! Don’t email me about CSS…I’ll probably turn it around and ask you all my questions!
Kelly – thanks for coming back today! I’m debating about the color on each side…I’ve already changed it back. I’m so indecisive.
I love your new site design it looks wonderful Mel. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

The website look great! …as does the toffee dip…YUM! 🙂
I love your site and recipes as well, I must admit that as much as I love a good dip for my fruit, I’m not a lover of this one. Just didn’t jive with me. But don’t you worry, I’ll keep coming back for more:0)
